Do Good, Be Good
Make Your Bed
A neat bed is a happy start to the day! People around the world sleep on very different beds. Some people even fold their beds away!
Did you know?
'Charpai' means 'four-footed'. This old Indian bed is made of woven rope on a wooden frame.
In Japan, many people sleep on a futon, a soft mattress on the floor. Each morning, they fold it and put it away!
Long ago in China, many people slept on hard pottery pillows!
Try this: 5-Minute Room Rescue
Set a timer for 5 minutes. Pick up everything on your floor. Sort it into three piles: things to put away, clothes to wash and rubbish. Put books on the shelf and toys in their box. Put dirty clothes in the laundry basket. When the timer rings, look around. Is your room tidier? Try to beat your time tomorrow!
Go further: Why Sleep Matters
Sleep is not just resting. While you sleep, your body grows and repairs itself. Your brain is busy too! It helps you remember what you learnt that day. Experts say children aged 6 to 12 need 9 to 12 hours of sleep. A tidy, cosy bed helps you sleep well. Try going to bed at the same time each night.
