Tennis balls were once white. Yellow balls came in 1972 because they are easier to see on TV.
A classic football has 32 patches. There are 12 with five sides and 20 with six sides. Count them!
An ice hockey puck (the flat disc players hit) is made of hard rubber. It is frozen before a game so it bounces less!
Try this: The Bounce Test
Collect a few balls, like a tennis ball, a rubber ball and a football. Stand in an open space. Hold each ball at shoulder height and let it drop. Do not throw it! Ask a friend to watch how high it bounces. Which ball bounced the highest? Now try the test on grass. What changed?

Long ago, surfers in California, USA, had a problem. Some days, the sea had no big waves! So they rode boards with wheels on the streets. People called it 'sidewalk surfing'. That is how skateboarding began. In 2021, skateboarding joined the Olympics for the first time, at the Tokyo Games. If you skate, always wear a helmet and knee pads!
