Let's Explore Space!

Panorama GK 1

3, 2, 1... blast off! Let's zoom off to explore the Moon, the Sun and the stars!

Did you know?

  1. The Sun is a star, like the stars you see at night. It looks bigger because it is much nearer.

  2. There is no wind on the Moon. So astronauts' footprints there can stay for a very long time.

  3. India's Chandrayaan-3 landed softly on the Moon, near its south pole.

Try this: Moon Diary

Look at the Moon each night for one week. Look from a window or balcony. Draw its shape in a notebook every night. Is it round, half or a thin smile? Does it change? If clouds hide the Moon, try again the next night.

Go further: Many Sunrises a Day

Astronauts live on a space station that zooms round the Earth. It goes round so fast that they see many sunrises every day! Everything floats up there. So astronauts sleep in sleeping bags tied to the wall. That way, they do not float away while they sleep!
