Famous Indians
Some Indians did amazing things with hard work and curiosity. Let's meet a few people who make India proud!
Did you know?
Rakesh Sharma flew to space. He said India looked 'Saare Jahan Se Achha', better than the whole world!
As a boy, Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam delivered newspapers. He grew up to be a scientist and President of India.
C.V. Raman wondered why the sea looks blue. His science work won him a Nobel Prize.
Try this: My Hero Card
Ask your family about a person they admire. It can be someone famous. It can also be a teacher or a nurse you know. Draw that person on a card. Write one kind or brave thing they did. Put your card up on the wall.
Go further: Ask 'Why?' Like Raman
C.V. Raman saw the blue sea and asked, 'Why?' Big discoveries often start with small questions. India celebrates National Science Day every year to remember his discovery. Look around you today. Why is grass green? Why do clouds move? Write down three 'why' questions. Find the answers with a grown-up.
